4. Hierarchical. Hierarchical decision makers also make it a point to collect as much information as they can about the situation. The difference is that they select only one solution that they have concluded is the best one. They are meticulous and very thorough in preparing for the implementation of these decisions.

As with all things, there are advantages and disadvantages to each style. There are cases wherein you have no choice but to thoroughly study all the possible solutions before you can make the right choice. Some people feel that this is too time consuming for them. Do not delay and procrastinate; but take the time if necessary to process all relevant information before proceeding to the best course of action.

However, if you have more experience and your gut has proven to be a dependable compass in your decision making process, then use what you know works for you. Be cautious not to be hasty and careless. Understand the pertinent factors and act appropriately.
