Have You Heard Some Of The Discussion About The HCG Diet?

By Riley T. Simonis

The special drops used in conjunction with lowered daily calorie intake constitute the HCG diet. The body begins to burn stored fat when it uses up the day's calorie intake; a process that occurs faster with a low-calorie diet. While a low calorie diet alone might produce similar results, the supplement used in the diet helps to ensure that muscle mass is maintained and just fat is lost. Negative side effects, such as fatigue or irritability, which are known to accompany low-calorie diets can be avoided with the aid of HCG drops. The body's method of fat management, including the use of calorie intake, is reorganized with the HCG diet. The implication phase, the training of the metabolism and the maintenance phase are the three stages used in the special diet plan.

During days one and two of the special diet, a high calorie diet is recommended during the initial use of the HCG drops. The first phase of the diet helps to re-set the body's natural way of handling calorie intake and burning fat, which will be utilized in the low-calorie portion of the diet. The period of low-calorie intake in the diet is helped by the initial high-calorie phase as it decreases excess hunger throughout the diet process. During the second part of the special diet, the body is beginning to use stored fat as fuel and the initiation of a low-calorie diet will help to ensure that it continues to do so.

The final portion of the diet, known as the maintenance stage, begins when the drops have successfully altered the body's metabolism. When the maintenance portion of the special diet begins, drops are no longer necessary as calorie intake returns to normal.

Calorie intake, however, must be slowly raised as to not disrupt the metabolism and the body's new process of burning fat. Closely monitoring weight during the maintenance phase of the diet will help to keep the body's new fat-handling procedures during the increase of calorie intake.

With the low-calorie intake during the diet plan, only light exercise is recommended for the physical activity portion of the diet. Because there are fewer calories used for energy, strenuous exercise could cause starvation and fatigue as the calories are used quicker. The hormones in the drops will not affect a woman's menstrual cycle, and there are no other known side effects from the program. Pregnant women are not advised to use the program, as they are likely to see little to no results because of higher calorie intakes necessary for nourishment during pregnancy.
