Surrender and Be Thankful
We live in a world where people get greedier and greedier. Rich gets richer, poor gets poorer, yeah, and I know this is a cliché, but still true. I used to think that the reason why a person is focused on only materialistic values whereas almost everybody seems to be cursing the materialistic wealth is because of their mental program and the way of their upbringing. But now I understand I was wrong, and badly!
We claim to believe in God, but we still live in fears. Faith is to yield. But not to your destiny, not to the challenges, or bad conditions; to yield to the belief that the His Heavenly Compassion will carry us through the challenges as long as we keep challenging ourselves for better and better. Unless we do that, we surely live in fears all the time, whether we're materialistically rich or not.
Because... the real measure of wealth isn't money, or monetary values, but what you have in yourself as a person. This is a very common mistake that many people do all the time. When a person begins to get more financial means at a point of life, they also begin to get more arrogant about it, thinking subconsciously that their new found wealth makes them who or what they are. So eventually, they identify themselves with titles, positions, means, cars, or houses they have. And that's exactly why - at least mostly - when a person gets richer, he or she also gets more afraid of losing it all, because it feels as if they will lose their identity!
You may always lose what you seem to be having whereas in fact it's just an illusion - owning materialistic values is an illusion, because actually an object has a value only because we (as a population) give it a value - but you can never lose who you are!
What these people do is to reverse the equation here. Remember what created that wealth in the first place: You! Wealth doesn't create you, you create it! But somehow, people forget it afterwards, and act as if what put them on this world is their wealth. Well, just a simple truth about this: Physical or financial terms don't create or identify you as the person you are.
I know it's dazzling to hear wonderful comments to
ld everywhere about you like:
"Oh, Mr. This-and-that is a wonderful manager of our company."
"Wow, look what Miss This-and-that does!"
"Whooaaa, did you really make it?"
"Hey, look at his latest model luxury car!"
"Hey, look what kind of a place she lives!"
"How wonderfully she [or he] dresses!"
Yes, it feels great to hear such compliments, no doubt on that. However, as great Turkish rock singer Baris Manco said in one of his songs:
"Even if thrown into garbage, would gold lose its value? And if you polish up a piece of tin, would it equal to an ounce of gold?"
Your title, your wealth, your career, your social status, your clothes, your house, or your car... DOESN'T make you what or who you are! They're just the perks you get when you succeed in something, that's all. If even a swindler or a gang leader can have them, stealing, lying, or simply using force, it doesn't mean to be someone big when you have the same. As I said: It's simply an illusion. Just like your physical body!
(Yes, you heard right. But this is the subject for another article.)
That's why the real question is not "what am I?," but "who am I?" And the answer of this question comes when you try to answer some other specific ones. Like:
"Why am I here in this life?" "
"Why God put me on this planet?"
"And why now?" "
"What have I come to learn?"
"What have I come to share?"
"What have I come to teach?"
And (not to take) "What have I come to give?"
These are the real questions every person living on this planet should ask himself or herself. And these questions lead you to rediscover yourself!
The key?
Surrender to Almighty Compassion, knowing that as long as you're in the search of such answers, He will carry you through all the challenges you face throughout your - not only life - whole existence!
Is it scary to surrender completely with all your existence to the Heavenly Love? I can hear you ask questions like "What if I lose the control of my life?" "What if I lose my self-esteem?" "What if I lose everything I have?"
I promise I will answer all these questions in coming articles eventually. But trust me; I know it from experience:
This is what the real faith is all about! To surrender to the Infinite Compassion means mastering over life through His Power!
