If I want to head for a relaxing night away from the house, usually I will unwind at my local pub. It is there that I see a ton of eager single people wanting to find a good significant other. They want to dress real fancy and hook up with somebody, but the reality is that these people cannot find the right person just overnight with no rhyme or reason. The best suggestion that I have for these people if they want to meet somebody attractive is to give them a good first impression of you. What better way to do that then by trying some kettlebell exercises or doing some art classes?
Imagine, for a minute, what it's like for a single person walking into a bar full of strangers. You don't know what you have in common with them - if you have a single thing in common to speak of at all, that is. It could be a daunting experience and at the end of the night, you haven't met anyone with long term potential or you spent all night nursing your drink by yourself in the area. You should have tried ceramics or kettlebell training as a replacement.
If I ever mentioned these suggestions, naturally I am thinking about them at the moment they come up in my mind. But the simple truth is, the smart way to meet somebody is going to the gym instead of going to the bar to meet somebody new. You may not be dressed nice, but maybe meeting someone for the first time in gym clothes can be a great boost when trying to date. We all face some fear when meeting someone we could potentially date. Going to the gym and working out like them will show the person you are making an effort to be in shape like them.
If a step aerobics class or the kettlebell workout isn't for you, choose a class that really interests you. If you like to consider yourself an artist, pick up a drawing or ceramics class. Maybe the live model in class will strike your fancy or you can easily meet a fellow fanatic of the arts. (Picture yourself reenacting that scene with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in Ghost.) If you're interested in cooking (or can't cook for your life) look for a potential date in a cooking course and connect over your devotion (or hatred) of a culinary arts.
Remember that chances are that you aren't going to discover the person you're going to marry in a dimly lit bar. Instead of being encompassed by the smells of a brewery floor and too much perfume, imagine being overloaded by the scents of something tasty at a cooking class. Instead of meeting someone whose judgment is weakened by one drink too many, meet someone to share your endorphin high after nice workout. After all, if you're interested in cooking, art, or kettlebell training - isn't it a good idea to find someone who shares that hobby?
